About Acupressure

Acupressure is basically acupuncture without the needles!

It is a safe, and effective therapy which has been tried and tested over thousands of years in the east, and is gradually becoming more widely known and used in the west.

Many doctors and some vets now offer acupuncture as an adjunct to their services.

Traditional Chinese Medicine recognises that there are energy channels running through the tissues, linking all parts of the body together. Any issues affecting these channels, that are not resolved, can impact on physical and emotional wellbeing, and dis-ease develops, either chronic or acute, depending on the severity of the impact, and the length of time it has been allowed to remain un addressed.

The practitioner looks for signs of imbalance revealed on the body or in the behaviour, and seeks to correct any issues before the problem progresses to something more serious.  If there are already problems, the practitioner seeks to find the root cause and release any impairment in the channel activity by gentle pressure and release of the relevant 'acupoints', thereby bringing balance and returning the animal to health.
